How To Obtain Great Car Insurance Quotes
Feb 13, 2010 Auto Insurance
When you are looking for the best car insurance quotes always be prepared before you start calling insurance companies. You have to know what it is that will make raise your quote higher and what will reduce you quote. These are just a few of the things that will affect your quote when buying care insurance.
One thing that will affect your quote is credit. Insurance companies will look at your credit and determine how you pay your bills. If you have a high credit score you can get a lower rate. Now, on the other hand if you have a really low credit score you will get a higher rate. Some companies will not give you insurance if your credit score is too low.
When you are deciding what kind of car you are going to buy you need to keep you insurance in mind. If you go out and look for that fire red sports car you can expect to pay a higher rate than if you looked at that blue family car. These companies believe that those who drive sport cars drive crazy and those who drive family cars drive safely. So if you want lower rates look for a family type car. This will also affect your rate.
Also, when you are buying your car, look for as many safety features as you can. You can get discounts for anti theft, air bags, anti-lock breaks, and any other safety feature that you can get with your car. You may pay more at the start but you will save money when it comes to paying your insurance. If you do this, you will also ensure that you will be safer while you are driving.
Insurance companies will give you a discount for taking defensive driving classes. Take a couple hours and sign up for a class. You will learn to be a better driver and also save money in that quote. The more you show the insurance company that you are trying to be responsible the more they will be willing to lower that quote.
Last but not least, when you do get your insurance, try to get it with the same company that you have your other types of insurance with. If you combine your auto insurance with you home, life, or other insurances you can get a major discount. If you cant get a discount with the company that you are using for your other insurance you may want to consider going to another company that will offer this kind of discount.
There is a lot that you can do to secure the best quotes. One of the best is to not be afraid to ask about discounts. These companies are competing for your business and that gives you the power to demand that they give you every discount they got. One or two may say no but if you keep looking you will find you can get what you want.
We all want to save money. These are just a few of the ways your can knock a dollar or two of your insurance quotes. At the end when you add all these discount up, you can save a good bit of money. So get out there find your discounts and go to that insurance company with confidence that you are going to get the best quote they offer.

What Do Car Insurance Dollars Pay For?
Feb 12, 2010 Travel Insurance
No matter how you pay for car insurance, it is likely that you feel you may be paying too much. While you may be able to shop around and save money on car insurance, do not make the mistake of not paying for this required insurance. Doing so can cost you peace of mind. Here is where some of the insurance dollars go.
Liability insurance is required in every state to meet state financial responsibility laws. These financial responsibility laws vary greatly and the amounts and types of insurance coverage that is requires is different in different states, however every state requires some type of personal injury and property damage coverage on your vehicle. If the coverage lapses then some states are canceling the registration or driver’s license of the person. You will be required to prove that you are covered and pay a fine or an administrative fee.
Driving without car insurance, however, can cost you much more than just a fine. If you are in an accident, you can be held financially responsible for the other person’s vehicle and medical expenses. In addition, you will likely be ticketed for driving without insurance. These expenses can far outweigh anything you might pay in insurance fees.
You may find yourself in the place where you must pay to have your own vehicle repaired. Without a vehicle you will find it difficult to get to work or take care of other errands for your family. If you have to rent a vehicle while your vehicle is being repaired or until you can afford a replacement vehicle, then the costs can add up very quickly.
In addition, the comprehensive coverage on your vehicle covers it in the event of vehicle theft, vandalism or if windows are broken and need to be replaced. In many areas car theft is far more common than we would like to think. If your car is stolen, it is not usually recovered without some damage. Many stolen vehicles are eventually wrecked and then abandoned. Others are stripped and sold for parts.
Persons that drive newer vehicles often find that their finance company requires that they carry insurance on the vehicle. The coverage needed is full coverage insurance and there may be a limit to the maximum amount of deductible on the insurance you are carrying on your vehicle. If you do not have insurance, the finance company can take out an insurance policy on your vehicle, but the price you pay for this insurance is very high when compared to the price you would pay for your own insurance. In addition, it does not meet any state’s financial responsibility laws.
Comparison shopping for insurance is a great way to save money that you pay for insurance. There are many companies that offer free insurance quotes. You will find several of these companies online. For the most accurate quotes, go ahead and give your personal information. Then once you have collected three to five quotes from different companies, take time to compare each quote to find the best price for your insurance.
The price that is paid for peace of mind can often be less by comparison shopping for insurance.

Do Financial Institutions Insurance Policies Differ From Car and Home Insurance Companies
Feb 10, 2010 Auto Insurance
Whether its home or car insurance, when you buy an insurance policy, you are making an important investment. It gives you peace of mind knowing that if an event happens which could cost you a lot of money, you are protected. There are a number of different ways of purchasing insurance. For instance, you can buy it from a financial institution such as a bank or through an independent insurance company. Because most people want insurance with the right amount of coverage at the best possible price, it is important know if there are any significant differences between financial institution insurance policies and policies offered from insurance companies.
When you purchase an Assurance auto from a financial institution, the institution’s lending officer is the person you will work with to get the best policy that meets your needs. The financial officer works with certain institution approved insurance companies to find you a policy. They partner with a broad and varied group of insurance companies and acquire the insurance through an insurance broker who gets a commission fee. Therefore, the lending officer can be considered the middleman. One may have extra fees associated with getting an insurance policy through a financial institution because both the lender and broker are arranging the policy. You will often be offered incentives such as discounts for anti theft devices. For home insurance, you can usually get a policy where the payment is included in your home mortgage so that the amount you pay each month has the cost of the insurance included. As well, you can often get your home and auto insurance policy combined.
When you purchase a policy from an insurance company, you are working directly with the company. You still have the same coverage options that you would with a financial institution, however, you may possibly have more discount options available as the insurance company knows they are competing for your business. As with the financial institution, you will still be offered special policy packages such as combining home and auto insurance policies. In many cases, you can often get a better premium than you would with a financial institution. For instance, when you use an online insurance quote tool, you submit your information and receive a number of quotes from different insurance companies. You can then choose the best policy at the most affordable price.
The insurance products offered by insurance companies and financial institutions are generally similar, however, one can sometimes get more choices at a better premium when they work directly with an insurance company. For example, consider Assurance auto in Montreal. When considering whether to purchase a policy through a financial institution or an insurance company, to make sure you are getting the best price and the necessary amount of coverage, it is important to check with each one. In any case, you have to make sure you are completely covered and can afford the deductible.
In today’s troubled economy, we could all use a deal on our insurance policies. Insurance is not a money making venture, but provides financial security for you and your family. In times of financial crisis, it gives that much needed financial support and is one of your most important life investments. The most important factor to remember when buying insurance is you should always comparison shop to get the best price and correct type and amount of coverage.

Automobile Liability Insurance For Your Financial Protection
Jan 29, 2010 Home Insurance
The state laws of every state in the USA require that you carry Car Liability Insurance on your vehicle. This coverage pays for damage that you cause to persons or property in an automobile accident when you are at fault. The laws regarding this insurance are determined by the individual states. This means that the requirement varies by state. In some states you will find that the state minimums are lower than in other states.
Liability insurance is not only required by law, it is needed to protect your other properties. If you have an accident that causes major damage to persons or property and you are inadequately insured, the person suffering the loss can file a lawsuit against you. If they prevail, then a judgment can be filed against you. A lien can be filed against any of your properties to satisfy that judgment. This lien can prevent you from refinancing your property and if you sell the property, the lien must be satisfied before you receive any money for the property that is sold.
When you purchase liability insurance it the policy is often referred to in three numbers, such as 10/20/10. These numbers would indicate that the policy offers ten thousand dollars in personal injury protection for each person that is involved in the accident with a cap of twenty thousand dollars per accident. Additionally, the coverage would pay up to ten thousand dollars in property damage. While these limits seem low, there are states that actually have lower limits.
Since most state limits are too low, it is a good idea to carry more insurance than is required by the state laws. Your insurance agent can give you a good idea of the amount of insurance that is needed to protect your assets.
If you are unsure of the required amount of liability insurance that is required by your state, you should check with your department of motor vehicles. They can let you know the requirements for your state. In addition, you should check to see what the penalties are for driving without insurance. In many states, the insurance company is now required to report to the DMV if you insurance lapses for even one day.
States are developing very stiff penalties for persons caught driving without insurance. In some states your vehicle registration can be canceled and in other states your actual driver’s license is canceled. While the first offense may have a lower penalty, if your insurance is canceled a second or third time, it can cost you dearly. Your vehicle can be impounded for 180 days and you can be billed for the storage fees on the third offense in some states.
If you do not have liability insurance, you can get quotes using your home computer and the internet. Compare those quotes in order to find the best prices and coverage for your vehicle. There may be several hundred dollars per year difference in the same coverage from different companies.
If you want to keep the cost of your liability insurance low, learn to drive defensively. This can save you money in a couple of ways. If you drive defensively, you are less likely to get a traffic ticket. In addition, you will avoid accidents. In addition to saving money you may save your own life or the life of family members.

Cars That Are Less Expensive To Insure
Jan 16, 2010 Auto Insurance
Buying a car involves a number of costs other than the actual purchase price of the car. One such cost is car insurance. Often people do not consider the cost of insurance when they are searching for a car. Many people do not realize that the price of car insurance will vary from car to car. Because car insurance can be expensive, it is important to understand why it is expensive to insure some cars over others as it can affect the price one pays by hundreds of dollars.
The type of car that you drive affects the price you will pay for auto insurance. Rates are based on a particular car’s make and model. A car with a low loss history will be cheaper to insure. For instance, if you purchase a brand new car that has no record of accident and other damage claims, the rate you pay will usually be based on the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Then rates will be adjusted on loss history over time
Insurers will also asses such features as horsepower-to-weight ratio and adjust the insurance rate accordingly. The more high performance cars will tend to have higher premiums. As well, the car’s history of vehicle safety will affect premiums. Cars with a good record of safety will have lower auto insurance rates. This is why larger cars and minivans tends to be one of the most least-expensive vehicles to insure. The car repair history, the safety record of the car such as the number of instances of accidents, and size of the car, all are assessed when determining the premiums one will pay.
One of the least expensive cars to insure is the Smart fortwo which is made by Mercedes-Benz. This small two door coupe comes with 71 horsepower engine and has a fuel economy range of 33 mpg in the city. It also has a low collision loss record. The 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe is another car that is cheap to insure. The Highway Loss Data Institute notes that the Santa Fe has a low record of comprehensive insurance loss and low personal injury and collision protection insurance claims.
The following are a list of a few of the least expensive cars to insure: Hyundai Entourage, Hyundai Santa Fe, $832 , Saturn VUE, $911, Chrysler Town and Country, $915, Smart Fortwo, $881, Honda Odyssey, Mazda Tribute, $913, $871, Kia Rio5, $870, Kia Sportage, $840, and Kia Sedona, $857.
Other cheap cars to insure include: GMC Safari, Chrysler PT Cruiser 4dr Wagon, Pontiac Solstice, Pontiac Sunfire 2dr Coupe, Volvo S40 4dr Sedan, Honda Civic, Buick LeSabre, GMC Safari SLE AWD 3dr Minivan, Dodge Caravan SE 4dr Minivan, Ford Taurus (station wagon), Buick Century Special Edition 4dr Sedan, Dakota Quad Cab, Saab 38600 Linear 2.3t 4dr Sport Wagon, Volvo XC90, Saturn L300 1 4dr Sedan, Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD 4dr SUV, and Pontiac Montana.
In this troubled economy, we can all benefit from saving extra cash. If you are on a tight budget and are looking for a new vehicle, choosing a car that has low insurance premiums can save you hundreds of dollars a year.
Due to its convenience, purchasing auto insurance online is gaining popularity in the modern age. In any case, auto insurance is an essential asset for all automotive owners.

A Vintage Auto Classic Reborn - The Austin Mini Vehicle
Dec 29, 2009 Auto Insurance
Think of the “Mod 1960’s” - Carnaby Street , Apple Records with the Beatles et al and most likely you will picture that cute little , or almost ugly “Austin Mini” motor-car vehicle. No doubt about it - the marvelous Mini set the stage for the worldwide acceptance of small front wheel drive , transversely laid out engines front wheel drive automotive car engine designs that we take for granted on our roads and highways today.
For example to begin with the Austin Mini - in its various forms is credited widely as being the inspiration for the global block buster car seller - the Honda Civic, which in itself set the basis and backbone for many of the current automobile models that we consider today as our basic standards. To start with the mini was a runt - no more than ten feet long between its bumpers - when automobiles on the roads and highways of the USA were boats and behemoths. On top of that compared to similar vehicles on the road, it had less than half the horsepower. Top that with an actual starter motor button on the floor back of the manual stick shift, located back (towards the rear window) of the floor mounted, through a hole in the floorboards, manual transmission stick.
Yet to its credit the mini was not only sort of cute - some called it ugly - but advanced simple standards of driver comforts yet to come in the future - for example map storage areas on the drivers and passenger doors - obstensively for maps but deep enough to be used for carrying home even small grocery items. The first minis rolled off the assembly line in Britain on May 8 , 1959 and showed up on streets and highways shortly after during August 1959. It was even priced in British terms at less than $ 540 British Pounds Sterling - the American dollar equivalent being less than $ 1000.
Yet this little mutant of a car not only had a low cost and external size, it held an innovative design that even though tiny in size it could seat 4 adults and perhaps 5. The secret was an adoption of front wheel drive with a transversely mounted engine and transmission. Now held as the standard, at that point in automobile history most autos were “rear wheel driven” with a large drive train running down the middle of the floor of the vehicle taking up passenger space and adding weight. Rear engine vehicles are simpler to build and maintain and less expensive to design, engineer and install at the factory level. Yet the heavy drive train not only adds weight to the vehicle, requiring a larger and heavier engine, it also takes away from interior passenger space. So the innovative design of the Austin Mini had great merit in allowing for a smaller vehicle, with a smaller engine that had a reasonable interior seating space, and had reasonable pickup all with less cost, and overall auto owner and motorist’s driving costs and budget.
Yet the Mini suffered a host of problems - especially in the “export market”. These were problems, errors and mistakes that the Japanese auto industry , could later use to good lesson , when it came time for them to enter the American auto market - ultimately very successfully. One was that the auto seemed to be designed for the British market, geography, driving conditions and climate. True the Mini was fun to drive , could pack in passengers , luggage and groceries in a small space. Yet it was underpowered when it came to the growing American highway system and daily commutes. In addition the cooling system seemed to be developed for more temperate climes. Austin car owners and their passengers often sweltered in a hot American summer , while freezing with an inadequate heating system come cold Canadian winters. The car seemed to have devised and developed for British temperate climate and small scale higher speeds. In addition parts availability for repairs , as well as trained mechanics, other than at higher priced British car dealerships seem to scare away more than one potential auto customer - or one looking to finance their new or used vehicle.

The Pros And Cons Of Getting Auto Insurance Quotes Online
Nov 9, 2009 Business Insurance
When you think about it, the Internet has really changed our lives so much especially when it comes to the obtaining of information and buying goods and services. Because of this these days it really is very easy to quickly and easily price shop your auto insurance from the comfort of your own home.
One of the great things about shopping around for auto insurance online is that there are a number of websites where you can obtain instant safe auto insurance quotes.
It is always worth getting these additional safe auto insurance quotes as even if you have a policy with a good company already it is quite likely you could be saving a fair amount each year. Naturally though there are good points and bad points to obtaining these quotes.
Let’s explore some of the benefits of instant safe auto insurance quotes online and how to avoid some of the problems that you run across with them.
The main advantages
The most obvious advantage here is the pure speed you can get multiple quotes from a large amount of insurance companies and then go through and compare these quotes against your current policy.
Instead of wasting your time with calling company after company for a quote, dealing with automated systems, getting placed on hold, and so on, you can enter your information into a web form and get a quote right way.
The real speed comes with sites that take your information once and get quotes sent to you by email from multiple companies, allowing you to compare prices at a glance.
And while on the subject of no phones, no calling means no pressure from a salesperson on the other end of the line. This means no haggling, no rebuttals, and more time to do your own research.
If you prefer to come to your own decisions without the intervention of sales representatives, going the online route may well be a better way for you.
The Cons
When going the online route and filling out safe auto insurance quote forms one will pretty much always have to give some contact information. Normally this will mean at least giving away your e-mail address to these companies.
One very quick and easy way to keep these e-mail’s separate from your personal e-mail’s is to simply set up a separate e-mail address for the purpose of collecting auto insurance quotes online.
One other possible problem you could come across is that when using sites that offer quotes from multiple sources the actual site you use may not have all its form questions totally up to date and as a result one or two of your quotes may need some aspects to be revised.
This can sometimes lead to you having to redo the odd quote. Nevertheless if you use a good site that shouldn’t happen very often and even when it does overall the service will still save you a lot of time.
Just make sure that after you have gone through all candidates and have selected those you are most interested in that you double check with these companies first before going forward with them.
For most people I’m sure that these few disadvantages are not enough to put them off going the online route and searching for safe auto insurance quotes quickly and easily like so many others do these days.
Seeking out Safe Auto Insurance companies isn’t always easy, for this reason we have put together a no charge Low Cost Auto Insurance searching form.

Want to Know How To Find The Lowest Cost Insurance Policies?
Oct 24, 2009 Home Insurance
It doesn’t matter if you’re shopping for Car, House, Health, Life or Commercial insurance - if you don’t know the jargon you’re likely to wind up over-paying or buying the wrong insurance coverage. Here’s a useful guide to some of the more crucial insurance terms to keep you on the right track.
Insurance (in general):
Deductible - Deductibles reduce the price of insurance because you pay a predetermined amount of the loss or expense BEFORE the insurer pays. You select the deductible and the higher you choose, the lower your premium.
Premium - the premium is the cost of the insurance. It is how much you or your company pays for the coverage.
Property and Casualty - Property and casualty is the term for that segment of the insurance industry that pays for damage to property or for personal injury. This includes auto, home-owners and business liability insurance among other things.
Life and Health - This is the part of the insurance industry that covers life and health insurance as opposed to property and casualty.
Umbrella Insurance - This is wider insurance coverage than the original fundamental policy. For instance, a householder’s insurance policy that also admits a universal liability provision of $1,000,000 for personal lawsuits may be considered an umbrella policy.
Auto Insurance:
Collision - Like the name implies, this is the aspect of your car insurance that compensates for fixing damages to your car following the deductible.
Comprehensive - Comprehensive insurance covers the “non-collision” types of losses to your vehicle like fire, flood, vandalism or theft.
Liability Insurance - Liability insurance pays the losses of a third party such as personal injury, property or pain and suffering. Homeowner insurance also has liability provisions to protect you from personal injury lawsuits.
No-fault - Half of the states have no-fault insurance which pays for losses no matter who is at fault in the accident.
Medical Insurance:
Ancillary Care/Coverage - Ancillary is just a fancy term for “additional” or “extra” or “related.” It applies to comprehensive policies that for example, only cover basic health benefits but also have added (ancillary) coverage for prescription drugs or eye care, etc.
Cobra - Cobra is a U.S. law that compels organizations to offer extended health-care insurance coverage to dismissed employees for a specified time period. This insurance coverage is generally paid for by the ex-employee but at group rates.
Co-payment - An amount much your insurance requires you to pay for each visit to the doctor’s office, or for other care. The insurance company then pays the remainder of the bill assuming the deductible has been met.
Fee for Service - This is health Insurance that permits you to choose any Doctor and covers some predetermined share of “reasonable and customary” fees. You then pay the remainder.
H,M.O. - “Health Maintenance Organizations” are designed to provide comprehensive medical coverage for a set fee. However, these organizations typically require that you use their Doctors and facilities thus limiting your choice.
P.P.O. - “PPOs” are networks of physicians who offer their services at a discount negotiated by the insurance company. Thus insurers will normally pay a bigger portion of your expenses when you use these “preferred providers.”
Life Insurance:
Annuity - These are policies that pay while a person is alive for a specified period of time. They are usually offered by life insurance companies.
Term Life - Term life is a form of insurance bought for a specified time (or term). If the insured dies during this time period, the insurance is paid. If not, the insurance coverage expires or must be renewed to keep the benefit.
Universal Life - A Life policy connected to an investment account and market rates. The benefits are not set but change based on the returns achieved.
Whole Life - A traditional life insurance policy that accumulates cash value over the life of the policy at a fixed rate and with pre-determined premiums. The insurance benefit is also a fixed and guaranteed amount.

Q & A About Rental Insurance
Aug 16, 2009 Auto Insurance
There has been many a debate about car rental insurance and whether it is a necessity or not. The one thing that you must keep in mind is that car rental companies make money on selling you this option, so they want you to take it, plus it covers their vehicle, which honestly is the only thing that they are truly concerned about.
The following are some of the most common questions that people have about this type of insurance and the answers may surprise you.
Q: WILL MY REGULAR CAR INSURANCE COVER ME WHILE I AM USING A RENTAL?
A: This is a big YES! Almost all car insurance companies will cover you, even when you are driving a rental car. I would, however, suggest that you contact your insurance company prior to getting your rental just to be 100% sure.
Q: IF I USE A CREDIT CARD FOR MY CAR RENTAL, WONT THAT COVER ME FOR ANY DAMAGES?
A: YES and NO….Most of the major credit card companies, such as Visa, MasterCard or Discover, offer you additional insurance protection when you use the card to rent a vehicle. Because this may not apply for all credit cards companies you should check with your credit company prior to renting your car. This will give you a piece of mind when turning down the rental insurance for the rental car company.
Q: IF I AM COVERED BY MY CREDIT CARD AND MY CAR INSURANCE DO I NEED TO PURCHASE THE CAR RENTAL INSURANCE JUST IN CASE?
A: NO, NO, NO….Although many companies will tell you that you are not covered under any insurance but theirs, this is absolutely not true. The truth is, the insurance coverage that is offered from a rental car company will provide you will no covers that you are not already be offered through your insurance and credit card companies.
It is important to determine whether or not you need to purchase this coverage before you show up to rent your next vehicle. Understanding that you are covered in other ways will make you feel more secure when refusing the rental agencies insurance coverage.

Advantages of Driving a Hybrid Car
Jul 30, 2009 Business Insurance
Driving a car is something that can be quite exhilarating, as it makes the person feel free, as if they can go anywhere that their hearts desire. With the unveiling of the new hybrid vehicles, there is an alternative means to get to a destination. These vehicles are some of the best for the money, while keeping things such as the environment and gas mileage in mind. They are many other advantages of driving a hybrid salvage cars, even over these huge ones that make many people convert; even if it’s just for the fact that they are cheaper when it comes to insurance.
The Environment The environment is something to take into account when purchasing a car in many people’s minds, as they are mindful of the depletion of the earth’s ‘greenhouse’ gases. By using clean energy of the electric motor, they emit less energy into the ozone layer. Not only is this better for the environment, the hybrid end up performing better gas mileage wise than the standard vehicle. They are also just as strong power wise as the traditional cars that run on fossil fuels with the advancement of technology in the field of hybrid cars.
The Technological and Monetary Benefits The hybrid cars, dubbed the car of the era’, is definitely one that is impressive. Not only do they perform just as well as the standard vehicle, they can really save people money. They get better mileage than your average car, with the implementation of electricity in their composition. With the Regenerative Braking technology, the batteries of these hybrid vehicles do not have to be charged by an external source. The hybrid car itself actually has tax benefits, which is something somewhat unheard of in the car industry, as governments implore people to make the switch over to protect our environment. On that note, there is also a nice buyer’s incentive provided to those who drive these green vehicles.
In the grand scheme, the hybrid vehicle is something that is amazing because of its overall good it can do for the environment and governments alike. Considering the dependency on fossil fuels and the rising gas prices, if everyone owned a hybrid vehicle the price of crude oil will fall, resulting in a world-wide sigh of relief for everyone dependant on it.
The future for the hybrid vehicle is a bright one, indeed. As the technology advances and the price of these vehicles lowers, a hybrid vehicle will soon be commonplace, and everyone will see the amazing advantages to driving a hybrid vehicle. With the incentives and specials that these cars have, one will find it amazing how people would consider ever driving a car that runs solely on fossil fuel alone. For those who are skeptical about the hybrid vehicle, after one drive of the vehicle they will see that there are hardly any differences between that and the standard vehicle. And if they are available to help out the environment and global economy, they are differently worth a shot.
